Changes During the Coronavirus Pandemic
Please ensure you have a nominated pharmacy so your medication can go electronically to them rather than collecting from the surgery. Please refrain from stock-piling medication . Early medication requests will be rejected. Please be mindful that our telephone lines are very busy at the moment. Therefore for General Covid - 19 pandemic advice e.g. on social isolation or social distancing for vulnerable groups.
Usual process is below
Patients on long-term medication can request repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:
- In Person - complete the back slip of your last prescription and drop it in the red box in reception.
- By Post - remembering to enclose a stamped addresed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.
- Online - via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to complete a simple registration (forms available at reception).
Please note we will only take requests over the telephone from housebound patients. The number to call is 0121 531 4665.
Prescriptions will be ready to collect within 48 hours so please bear this in mind when re-ordering and ensure that you don't run out.
Requests for urgent prescriptions will be ready on the day if presented at the reception window. Only medication that is due to be issued can be processed on the same day.
There are a number of local chemists that offer a daily collection and delivery service. Please write on top of your prescription which, if any, is your preferred chemist and we will make sure it is put in their next collection.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
